About
Hi and welcome to SixThird! My name is Gaebrielle, and I am a single mom of a magical two year old with special needs. My daughter suffered life threatening injuries at just two months old. After many prayers, surgeries, and therapy, we were discharged from the hospital after sixty-four days on June 3rd, 2017, hence SixThird. This is a very significant date for me, and what I’d like to call the beginning of the rest of our lives.
SixThird came about from my desire to create a community for other moms who have a child with special needs. I aspire to help others achieve healing after a traumatic life event, and to create a space for inclusion, advocacy, and education around children with special needs. I was a guest contributor for my friend’s blog SimplyTieranie, and after the warm support I received, I knew it was time to create a community of my own. You can check out that blog post here.
SixThird is not just for moms who have special needs children, but a home for anyone looking for inspiration, encouragement, and fulfillment. I aim to share with you the complexities of what caring for a special needs child entails, all while nurturing myself and all of you!
